Ruben Zondervan is Stakeholder Forum’s newest Fellow

Ruben Zondervan

October 02, 2025 – Stakeholder Forum Director Irena Zubcevic is pleased to announce that Ruben Zondervan has become Stakeholder Forum’s newest Fellow. SF Fellow and Associates are experts in the field of sustainable development with  5 to 10 years – or more – of experience. They work with us to develop partnerships and programs that can promote SF’s mission and work.

Ruben is a sustainability choreographer, aligning actors, interests, institutions, and governance for sustainability. He works as a managing consultant at BMC on advisory projects and as an interim manager for the energy transition in the public sector, while also serving as an independent advisor on governance, public affairs, and the science–policy interface of sustainability and climate change.

Over the past two decades, Ruben has held roles in the public sector, academia, and international NGOs, including as executive director of the Earth System Governance Project, interim executive director of Stakeholder Forum, academic director of multi-year capacity-building and research projects in Eastern Europe and Asia, and chief of sustainability for the municipality of Zaanstad in the Netherlands. His expertise lies in connecting the nitty-gritty of processes and policy formulation with the development of ambitious strategies, and vice versa.

SF is very fortunate to have Ruben back with the team. You can read more about him and other SF Fellows by going to Stakeholder Forum’s Fellows & Associates page.
