In September 1996, Stakeholder Forum introduce a new service from the CSD NGO Steering Committee called ‘Outreach 1997.’ The Committee attempted to keep those interested in 1997 sustainability issues aware of the events leading up to ‘Earth Summit II’ (UN Special Session of the General Assembly) – which later became known as the Johannesburg Summit.
Many people already recognised 1997 to be a landmark year for those interested in the issues of sustainable development. Six issues of the early Outreach – Outreach 1997 = were produced for this series, and links to them can be found below.
