New Publication: Pathways for National Sustainable Development Advisory Bodies

Study on the role of national multi-stakeholder advisory bodies to deliver the SDGs, by the British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC) on behalf of the Global Forum for National SDG Advisory Bodies.

Partners of the Global Forum for National SDG Advisory Bodies have conceptualized research on the value-added of multi-stakeholder advisory bodies for sustainable development. Multi-stakeholder advisory bodies are governance mechanisms that foster social cohesion for transformational pathways by negotiating solutions for structural change and bridging the knowledge and interests of various stakeholders. Speakers from more than seven such multi-stakeholder bodies will share insights and experiences on the various approaches, mechanisms, and impulses that they set for delivering sustainable development policymaking, as well as maintaining a fruitful and complementary relationship with responsible governments for implementation and reporting. The debate will be centered around the question; “How can partnerships with government and collaboration among stakeholders make a meaningful and constructive contribution to deliver on socially just and transformative change?”. Insights will be shared from countries all around the globe.
