Leida Rijnhout joining Stakeholder Forum

We are delighted to announce that Leida Rijnhout has joined Stakeholder Forum as an Associate.

Leida Rijnhout has been programme coordinator of Resource Justice and Sustainability at Friends of the Earth Europe. In her position as Executive Director of ANPED and director Global Policies at the EEB, she facilitated and coordinated the global NGO community to realize their active engagement in United Nations processes on Sustainable Development and Environment. She was heavily involved at and in the preparations of the Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002 (Johannesburg), at Rio+20 in 2012 (Rio de Janeiro), the development of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda (SDGs) and the UN Environment Assemblies (UNEA)

Leida Rijnhout is also member of the EU Multi Stakeholder Platform on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, chaired by EU Vice President Frans Timmermans, and she is the initiator of SDG Watch Europe and is member of its Steering group. SDG Watch Europe is a cross-sectoral alliance of 100+ NGOs, with the aim to advocate an effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Europe and the member states. Stakeholder Forum is a observer of SDG Watch Europe.

They share the vision of Stakeholder Forum to advance sustainable development and promote democracy. Together, they bring decades of experience from within all levels of government, academia, business and industry, the NGO community, and the United Nations inter-governmental environment and development processes.
